Ukip MEP Steven Woolfe barged through a scrum of media surrounding Jean-Marie Le Pen who was holding a walking interview in the corridor of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Appearing fairly annoyed, the Ukip immigration spokesman pushed straight past Mr Le Pen, in front of the cameras, saying: "Move away, move away."

The founder of the far-right French Front National party then shouted back at Mr Woolfe to take more care.

The Ukip MEP turned back around to explain his actions and said: "I wasn't pushing you, I was pushing him - the journalist, the journalist stepped on me."

However he was blocked off by one of Mr Le Pen's security guards who barked in his face: "Move, move, move away, move away."

The cameras then turned back to Mr Le Pen who is heard saying: "Ah, accident."

Holocaust denier Mr Le Pen's party shares an anti-EU and anti-immigration stance with Ukip - but they are not allies in the European Parliament.

His daughter succeeded him as leader of the party and promptly suspended him for repeating his view of the Holocaust as a "detail of history".

He retaliated by launching an attack on her saying he hoped she would marry soon and change her last name.

Ms Le Pen accused Ukip leader Nigel Farage last summer of "political dirty tricks" and "media stunts" after she failed to form an official group in the European Parliament.
