Police want spy planes to fight anti-social behaviour
Oct 15 5:36 AM US/EasternA police force is considering using unmanned aerial surveillance drones to fly over troubled local council housing estates to help tackle anti-social behaviour in respective areas.
The police force for Merseyside, in western England, has formed a new Anti-Social Behaviour Task Force which will have a budget of one million pounds (1.85 million dollars, 1.5 million euros), and a staff of 137, drawn from both the local police and fire services, The Sunday Telegraph reported."It's a cheap way of doing aerial surveillance, it's a cheap way of doing intelligence and evidence gathering. Put over an anti-social behaviour hotspot, it is quite a significant percentage cheaper than the force helicopter," said Superintendent John Myles, the joint-head of the task force.
"There may be some hurdles. The Civil Aviation Authority may say that it is a no-no, but I don't think it is at the moment," he said.
The newspaper reported that police forces in the United States have used similar drones, which cost about 16,000 pounds each, and circle areas at a height of 250 feet (76 metres), flying at about 30 miles (50 kilometres) per hour.

Is anti-social the same as criminal, now? Or are they looking for people who are not thinking Correct Group Think?
I suppose it's a small matter that everyone is under surveillance every minute, just as if they were prisoners in a government facility.

What the hell did Britain do....take every Orwellian science fiction movie from the last 30 years, pick shit out of them and say "that sounds like a good idea, lets do it!" I'm shocked AND apalled!

As the only groups not displaying anti-social characteristics in England must be niggers, indians and pakis, that's who'll be operating the drones.

Take action during overcast, rainy, or extremely foggy conditions. It's good for you anyway. The air is cleanest then.
Pardon the "paranoia" but US and USSR were bragging in the 70's about satellites that could read a newspaper headline. I think it's safe to assume that the tech has only gotten better since then.
Yeah they have to be looking straight down to get that kind of quality, but even civilians can now get photos and videos of high enough quality to track a motor vehicle's location.

I live in KC Missouri and most of the major intersections have cameras now.
I've seen the same in other cities and I'm sure it's only going to get worse.
I don't remember the excuses that were used for putting those up, but we all know the trend and where it's going.
It's not like the UK just yet. Big cities in England have people hired to actually watch these cameras all the time whereas these city cameras in the US are usually just recording frames to be stored.
As society breaks down the cameras will be less of an issue. They need electricity and skilled technicians. This machine is lately designed to destroy its own fuel and creators. It's going to get worse for them too.
