US mother & son beaten by Israeli security guard

BEIT SAHOUR (SHEPHERD’S FIELD), Palestine _ An American woman who was beaten up by an Israeli security guard when she tried to stop his assault on her son said Friday that she hopes to sue the Israeli government when she returns home to the U.S. next month.

Five days after the attack at an Israeli “border crossing” in Occupied Palestine, Tina Hannouneh moves slowly and carefully, the effects of what she called “a brutal thing” still clearly visible on her face.

Hannouneh’s eyes are underlined by deep purple bruises that circle halfway down her cheeks, her nose is swollen, and the wispy black threads of stitches are clearly visible at the end of her left eyebrow, holding together the deep gouge she got when the Israeli guard threw her to the floor and smashed her face against a metal grate.
