05/12/2006
Associated Press
Three teenagers were charged Friday with painting racist graffiti and a bomb threat on Christiansburg High School, police said. [color="Blue"](they painted a bomb threat?)
Classes were delayed after administrators arrived to find the graffiti, including swastikas and racial slurs, spray painted on the building. Students waited at a football field while police searched the building. No explosives were found, and students were allowed in at 8:45 a.m.
Police arrested Terry Lee Epperly Jr., Darren Anthony Mosier and Brandon Michael Saunders, all 18 and from Christiansburg. They were charged with threatening to bomb a public building, felony destruction of property, trespassing on school property and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Christiansburg Police Capt. Dalton Reid said Epperly and Saunders are students at the school, but Mosier is not. They were being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $7,500 bond each.
Reid said police and prosecutors were investigating whether the three could be charged with hate crimes.
