A yellow Labrador retriever believed suffering wounds because of being dragged 7/10s of a mile was put down today by a veterinarian, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

Owner Dale R. Strickland, 51, of 2730 Elam Road was charged with cruelty to animals after Romans found a large pool of blood at the intersection and bloody footprints where the dog was located.
