OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -Several western Kentucky people are hosting a stars and bars rebel ride at Panther Creek Park on Saturday.
Organizers say the rally is meant to show support for the confederate flag, collect toys for Toys for Tots, and canned goods for the Daniel Pitino Shelter.
“A lot of the people have taken the flag and turned it into something that it is not. It not only represents our heritage, but it represents who we are as people. Our southern way of life. Our hospitality,” said participant Jamie Clark.
The ride will begin Saturday morning at 10:30. The group will drive to Breckenridge County and end at Yellow Creek Park in Daviess County.
Organizers say participation is free and the public and all vehicles are welcome. They just ask that everyone bring canned food or a toy to donate.
