The father of an A-grade schoolboy stabbed to death after a trivial row today warned how the knife crime epidemic sweeping Britain has made life cheap.

Ben Kinsella, the brother of former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella, was knifed 11 times in a five-second frenzy after being chased by a gang of ‘feral’ youths who believed they had been ‘disrespected’ in the fight which started over a dirty look.

Today, as three thugs were convicted at the Old Bailey of Ben’s murder, the teenager’s distraught father George spoke of the devastation caused by Britain’s soaring knife crime.

He said: ‘Our son’s only crime was to be the last to run away from those animals.

‘Knife crime is now sadly embedded in the very heart of Great Britain, always running the lives of our gangs and feral youths.

‘Parents live in fear until their children are safely home. It can be for the wrong word, the wrong look or the wrong postcode.

‘In Ben’s case it was something that was nothing to do with him at all.’

The 16-year-old, who was not involved in the original brawl and done nothing to provoke the attack, pleaded for his life as he was kicked to the ground and stabbed with such force that it split one of his ribs.

After today’s verdict, CCTV was released of Ben’s final moments after he was stabbed by the gang of violent thugs.

The 16-year-old can be seen on CCTV staggering along a main road after being stabbed 11 times in five seconds for showing ‘disrespect’ to one of the youths.
