Edit: I do feel bad for the dog and maybe the wife. But certainly the dog.

Man kills wife, dog, self, in Burlington County

A New Jersey state corrections officer shot his wife and the family dog Wednesday night before turning the gun on himself inside the family's Burlington County home, police said.

Victor Segui-Cordero, 59, and Nelda Segui, 59, were found by their adult son inside their house on the 300 block of Lakeview Blvd. in Browns Mills, police said.

The couple's son called police at 9:25 p.m. Investigators found a note hand written by Sequi-Cordero that confirmed the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. Police did not know why Segui-Cordero killed the dog. They declined to release further details citing an ongoing investigation.

Segui-Cordero served 15 years as a corrections officer and was currently posted at the state prison in Trenton.
