Israeli snipers from US, Germany killed Gaza family in single day: Investigation
Wednesday, 10 September 2025 3:52 PM [ Last Update: Wednesday, 10 September 2025 3:52 PM ]
An international investigation has revealed that Israeli snipers, born in the United States and Germany, shot dead four members of a Palestinian family in Gaza in a single day.
The investigation, published by The Guardian, traced the killings of the Doghmosh family in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City on November 2, 2023.
Investigators found that on that day, brothers Mohammed, 26, and Salem Doghmosh, 19, were killed by sniper fire.
Their father, Montasser, 51, was fatally injured while trying to recover their bodies. Hours later, a cousin, 47-year-old Mohammed Farid, was also shot dead. Two other relatives attempting rescues were severely wounded, it said.
The video of Salem’s killing, and footage of other attacks on unarmed Palestinians, was posted online five months after his death.
Raab later said he and another sniper carried out three of those killings, in an interview carried out under deceptive circumstances by a team of journalists and investigators.
He said he deliberately shot Salem, who was unarmed, simply for trying to recover his brother’s body.
The massacre was carried out by a sniper team, who called themselves refaim, or ghost, which included Daniel Raab, a former college basketball player from Naperville, Illinois, and Daniel Graetz, who grew up in Munich, Germany.
World leaders condemn Israeli airstrikes on Hamas leaders in Qatar
Tuesday, 09 September 2025 6:24 PM [ Last Update: Tuesday, 09 September 2025 7:28 PM ]
Israeli airstrikes on Doha, Qatar, targeting officials of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, drew immediate condemnation from countries and leaders across the region and beyond.
The Tuesday attack was widely denounced as a violation of international law, an infringement on Qatari sovereignty, and a threat to regional stability.
Qatar
Qatar condemned the Israeli airstrike as a "cowardly" attack targeting residential buildings housing members of Hamas's political bureau in Doha.
It described the strike as a "flagrant violation of international law" and a serious threat to the safety of its citizens.
"The State of Qatar affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior and its continued tampering with regional security, as well as any action targeting its security and sovereignty,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said in a statement.
United Nations
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the airstrike, labeling it a "flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar."
He highlighted Qatar’s positive role in mediating ceasefire efforts in Gaza and facilitating the release of captives, urging all parties to prioritize a lasting ceasefire instead of further escalating regional instability.
35 dead, over 130 wounded in new Israeli strikes on Yemen’s Sana’a, Jawf

At least 35 people have been killed and more than 130 others wounded when Israeli warplanes launched a wave of airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sana’a, and the northern province of al-Jawf, local authorities said.
Yemen’s Health Ministry provided the new death toll hours after the attack on Wednesday. It had said earlier that nine people had been killed, but said the figures were preliminary and could rise as rescue teams continued to search for victims.
The ministry said the raids struck civilian and residential areas, including homes in al-Tahrir neighborhood of Sana’a, a medical facility on 60th Street in the southwest of the city, and a government compound in Jawf’s provincial capital city of al-Hazm on Wednesday.
Civil defense teams are working to extinguish fires caused by the bombardment and pull survivors from the rubble, it added.
An unnamed senior Yemeni source revealed to al-Mayadeen television news channel that Israeli strikes also targeted the headquarters of the 26 September and al-Yemen newspapers, leaving several journalists dead and injured.

Israeli forces kill four aid seekers, injure several others in Gaza as starvation worsens
Saturday, 13 September 2025 9:47 AM [ Last Update: Saturday, 13 September 2025 1:12 PM ]
Israeli forces have opened fire at a group of Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid in Gaza, killing at least four people, medical sources said, as hospitals in the besieged territory record more deaths from famine and malnutrition.
The official Palestinian WAFA news agency, citing the sources, reported that Israeli troops directly targeted the civilians in the central Wadi Gaza area on Saturday. Several others were wounded in the shootout as well.
The development comes as more than 1,000 Palestinians seeking aid have been killed by Israeli forces near aid distribution sites run by the so-called US and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which launched operations in late May.

Certain neighborhoods have experienced almost complete devastation. In the Zeitoun region of Gaza City alone, over 1,500 homes and structures have been obliterated since the beginning of August, resulting in sections of the area being devoid of any standing buildings.
The Israeli military has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023, dismissing international appeals for a ceasefire, resulting in the deaths of at least 64,756 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.
Israel's offensive in Gaza City 'death sentence' for one million Palestinians: MSF
Sunday, 14 September 2025 3:54 PM [ Last Update: Sunday, 14 September 2025 3:54 PM ]
The medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has warned that the forced expulsion of Gaza City residents into overcrowded and under-resourced areas would amount to “a death sentence for one million Palestinians.”
In a statement released on Sunday, the charity warned that an estimated one million, including hundreds of gravely ill patients and newborns, displaced people now occupy just 15 percent of the blockaded Palestinian territory.
Severe water shortages in Gaza had now reached critical levels, it added

MSF further said Israel’s relentless bombing and ground offensive in the northern city were killing hundreds of Palestinians and displacing countless people, often multiple times.
“Some of our colleagues have been displaced more than 11 times since 2023,” Granger added.
The Israeli military has issued multiple evacuation warnings for Gaza City, but many residents say they have nowhere else to go.
An Israeli military spokesman on Sunday issued a warning to those in Gaza’s port area and al-Rimal neighborhood to evacuate immediately to a so-called “humanitarian zone” in the south, where Gazans say there is no more space to pitch tents.
Israel has repeatedly struck the area in the south of the besieged strip, where it has urged people to move.

US lawmakers introduce 'thought police' bill to strip citizens of passports over Israel criticism
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has revoked visas and green cards of foreign nationals for opposing Israel's genocide of Palestinians in Gaza
News Desk SEP 13, 2025
A US congressman is introducing a bill that could potentially be used to deny US citizens the right to travel based solely on their speech, including for criticism of Israel, the Intercept reported on 13 September.
Introduced by Florida Congressman Brian Mast, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the bill would grant Secretary of State Marco Rubio the power to revoke the passports of US citizens in the same way he has revoked the green cards and visas of foreign nationals in the US for criticizing Israel.
In March, Secretary of State Rubio revoked the visa of Turkish doctoral student Rumeysa Ozturk after she wrote an opinion piece critical of Israel in the Tufts University student newspaper in 2024.
The op-ed did not mention Hamas, but called for boycotting and divesting from Israel.
One section of the bill grants the Secretary of State the ability to deny passports to people determined to have “knowingly aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise provided material support to an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.”
The reference to “material support” disturbs civil liberties advocates because it is vague and can be interpreted to include speech and anti-war activism.

#GameOverIsrael: Ex-footballers, rights groups, influencers launch Israel boycott campaign
Tuesday, 16 September 2025 9:36 PM [ Last Update: Tuesday, 16 September 2025 9:39 PM ]
An international campaign powered, among others, by renowned former footballers and football support groups is seeking to prompt countries to boycott the Israeli football team.
#GameOverIsrael, launched on Tuesday, strives to make some of the countries priding themselves on trailblazing football history, including England, France, Italy, and Spain, to suspend the team.
The countries are also expected to ban Israeli club sides from continental competition and prevent Israeli players from joining domestic leagues.
Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Norway, and Scotland are the rest of the nations that the campaign seeks to bring pressure to bear on towards realizing the purpose.
The bid is also backed by rights bodies, activism groups, and famous personalities.
Reporting on the development, UK-based media organization Novara Media identified some prominent supporters as former French footballer Eric Cantona and former England player and commentator Gary Lineker.
The drive is also backed by former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, Irish actor Liam Cunningham, and British artist Bobby Vylan among many others.
