The Health Ministry in Gaza has strongly condemned Israel’s abduction of a nurse in the strip, stressing that the action constitutes “a flagrant violation” of international and humanitarian laws.

Tasneem Marwan al-Hems, 24, was abducted by a special unit of the Israeli forces on Thursday while she was heading to work at a medical facility in the southern city of Khan Yunis.

Tasneem’s father, Dr. Marwan al-Hems, the director of Gaza’s field hospitals, was himself abducted by the Israeli forces two months ago and has since been held in Israeli prisons.

The Health Ministry in Gaza held the Israeli forces full responsible for Tasneem’s safety, calling for the disclosure of her fate.

The ministry also urged the international community to intervene urgently to put an end to Israel’s ongoing violations against health workers and their families.

Two more Palestinian children have died from starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, as Israel’s inhumane blockade continues to choke off vital food and aid supplies to the coastal territory.

Medical sources said on Saturday that the latest deaths brought the total number of starvation-related fatalities to 459, including 154 children.

According to the latest figures from Palestinian health authorities, since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in the Gaza Strip in August, 181 deaths have been recorded, including 39 children.

The report published by the UN-backed expert panel confirmed that Israel’s nearly two-year war had pushed parts of Gaza into a “man-made” famine. The panel warned that by the end of September, nearly a third of Gaza’s total population would face famine conditions.

The IPC report also fueled growing international outcry over Israel’s continued use of starvation to inflict genocide against Palestinians.

In a related development, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) highlighted the deaths of a nine-year-old girl, identified as Jana, and her two-year-old sister, Jouri, who both died of acute malnutrition in August and September in northern Gaza.

The Health Ministry in Gaza says more than 60 Palestinians have been killed and dozens of others injured in Israeli strikes in the past 24 hours.

In a statement on Friday, the ministry said, “63 martyrs and 227 injured individuals have been admitted to hospitals in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.”

Media reports said 37 of the victims were killed in Gaza City, the strip’s largest city, alone.

One of the strikes conducted by the Israeli regime on Friday targeted tents of displaced people inside the port of Gaza City, leaving at least five children killed and injuring several others.

At least one person has been killed and several others were wounded in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, medical officials say, in the latest breach of a shaky ceasefire in place since November 2024 between the Arab country and the occupying regime.

The al-Mayadeen television news channel reported that the civilians were targeted in a series of air raids that struck an area between Msayleh and an-Najjariyah towns in the Sidon district of South Lebanon governorate early on Saturday.

Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Israeli assaults hit excavation equipment and bulldozers, adding that efforts are being made to reopen the road linking the cities of Sidon and Nabatieh after it was cut off by the raids.

Hamas, two years into the Gaza genocide, has reportedly accepted a raw deal in which they'll give up their captives in the hope that President Trump will force Israel to go through with a complete withdrawal from Gaza.

Trump will take credit and guarantee it, they let in some aid and get their rape-soldier prisoners out, then they will restart the genocide again and the new main line will be "WE NEED KHAMAS TO DISARM", with Trump leading the charge on behalf of his masters," Zei Squirrel commented on X.

"The two guarantors of this 'ceasefire deal' are Trump and Steve Witkoff. So in other words, there are no guarantors, and everyone knows it. Israeli soldiers launched an arson spree by torching civilian homes and infrastructure in the immediate aftermath of signing a ceasefire deal with Hamas.

According to a report by Drop Site News, Israeli troops set fire to food supplies, homes, and a critical sewage plant in Gaza City on the night of October 9 and early morning of October 10.

The report identified members of the Israeli army originating from several different brigades who posted dozens of photos and videos of buildings engulfed in flames during their withdrawal from Gaza City to the “yellow line” defined in the agreement, still deep within Gaza’s territory.

On Sunday, an Israeli soldier from the Kfir Brigade posted a photo showing himself standing in front of a set of burning wooden pallets.

“On Friday, just before departure. Burning food so that it won’t reach the Gazans, may their names be erased,” the caption reads.

Israeli troops also shared photos of torched houses in other locations, accompanied by captions musing about the arson. One soldier dubbed the burning of several buildings the “finishing touches.”
