Webster on Griffin

Posted by alex in white nationalism at 3:11 pm | Permanent Link

[‘Electronic Loose Canon #19, as Webster styles it…]

In the last ELC I reported how BNP Chairman Nick Griffin had been compelled to sack his No. 2 official Tony Lecomber because Lecomber had solicited another BNP member, Joe Owens, to murder leading members of the Establishment.

Owens reported the matter immediately and personally to Griffin by phone. Owens knew Griffin well, having served as Griffin’s unpaid bodyguard, including on trips abroad, from 2001 until 2004. Owens was concerned that he might have been subjected to some kind of entrapment operation.

Griffin had retained Owens’ services for three years despite (or perhaps because of) knowing the man had a horrifying background of violence as a member of Liverpool’s criminal underworld and had, indeed, escaped a conviction for at least one gangland slaying.

Griffin displayed a marked reluctance to sack Lecomber and only did so four days after he got Owens’ report as a result of pressure from several members of the BNP Leadership Advisory Council who threatened to resign.

Though Lecomber was sacked from all his posts in the party, Griffin kept him on the party’s payroll and he continues to perform most of his previous tasks. Indeed, an Organisers’ Bulletin declared that there would be “a part for Lecomber”.

This situation is causing consternation in the party, not only on account of the statements made by Lecomber during his meeting with Owens but also on account of his previous convictions for bomb-making and criminal assault. People cannot understand Griffin’s reasons for not cutting Lecomber loose.

I suggested that the reason for Griffin’s hesitancy is because Lecomber has damaging information about Griffin.

Since the last bulletin, further information has come my way:

* Griffin’s paid security team, headed by Warren Bennett from Leeds, resigned the day before the start of Griffin’s Crown Court trial on “incitement to racial hatred” charges at Leeds Crown Court. Replacement security was organised at the last moment by….. the “sacked” Lecomber! He brought in people from York and London.
[Note: According to Owens, Bennett was paid £500 a week plus expenses for his services. If that is what Griffin could afford to pay Bennett, what is Griffin paying himself?]

* Bennett and his team resigned over Griffin’s refusal to take disciplinary action against Mark Collett (Griffin’s co-defendant in the racial incitement trial) for allegedly stating that he could have Bennett “done”. Why Collett made the alleged statement is unclear.

* Griffin has a habit of turning his blind eye to Collett’s infractions. On one recent occasion the lad was suspended from party membership by a disciplinary tribunal, but within four days Griffin was sharing a platform with him at a party meeting.

I have also received e-mail correspondence from Joe Owens. At first sight these e-mails correct some aspects of my first report, but on closer study, they contradict each other in certain particulars. Perhaps any inconsistencies will be ironed out when Owens’ book is published (see the Amazon entry below).

Hi Mr Webster

I was involved in the UDA back in the early 1980’s, but nothing that could be described as Paramilitary. Contrary to nonsense in a Belfast newspaper i’ve never meet Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair, or any other leading Loyalist. I have never been threatened by MC or anyone else for that matter. Come on, who’s going to threaten me?. I did do un-paid security for NG, for about 3yrs. I traveled to Germany and not Sweden. I was acquitted of 1 murder not 2. I’ve been questioned over 5 Murders. In fact i can’t remember the exact number?. I was connected to a Liverpool Gang called the “Jameson Boys”. I’m not saying anyone is a spook agent. What his motives were, i don’t know?

Synopsis

“The Nazi Assassin” is the story of Britain’s number one contract killer and one of the country’s most notorious race-hate white supremacists. By day, Joseph Owens was a leading neo-fascist, the personal bodyguard of BNP boss Nick Griffin. By night, he was a professional assassin with seven alleged hits to his name.

Owens was one of the top suspects for the slaying of TV presenter Jill Dando, while a Merseyside Police file describes him as the GBP100,000-a-time gunman for the criminal gang led by cocaine baron Curtis Warren.

“The Nazi Assassin” leads the reader into the dark world of fascist street fighting and Third Reich worship. Owens served eight months in jail for sending razor blades to members of Liverpool’s Jewish community and planned forced expulsions of if his party ever got into power.

Now he has turned his back on his former life and has decided to tell his incredible story in the hope of preventing others following the same route. But as a result he is being hunted by the underworld gangs whose members he executed and the anti-Nazi activists who will never forgive him.

He has already survived one assassination attempt. With a contract on his own head, only his sixth sense for survival and the military-strength bullet-proof vest he wears as standard keep Owens alive.

Could you confirm, refute, correct or add to the further information about you I have received from a variety of sources:

1) That you were Nick Griffin’s unpaid personal bodyguard for several years (2001 to 2004?) and accompanied him on trips abroad – including Germany and Sweden.

A: Yes

2) That you are or have been associated with criminal gangs and have been implicated, charged, tried but acquitted of involvement in two ‘gangland’ murders.

A: Yes

3) That the matters referred to in 2 above prompted complaints to Griffin by various officials of the party that he used you as his bodyguard; that Griffin passed on those complaints and the names of the complainants to you,
and that you made telephone calls late at night to the persons concerned, which they found to be intimidating.

A: No,not true.Well not that i know of

4) That you fell out with Griffin and ceased to be his bodyguard for a number of reasons, two of which have been suggested, i.e.:
(a) You wanted to become head of the BNP Security Department, but that Griffin refused this request.
(b) Mark Collett threatened you, to the effect that he knew people who could have you “taken out”. You complained about this to Griffin who, after much prevarication, refused to bring Collett to order.

A: I fellout with griffin becouse he took Warren Bennett on as head of security and paid him £500 plus expenses a week.I’d been doing it for nothing and took offence to this.

A: Mark Collett never did and never could threaten me. In fact, no one could

5) That since then you have posted attacks on Griffin at various Internet forums. (I have not been told what your criticisms were about).

A: Yes

Apart from the dangerous proposition that Tony Lecomber put to you earlier this month and which I discussed in ELC 18, what else makes you sure that he might be an ‘agent provocateur’ for some state spook outfit? Is your feeling
that he is an ‘agent provocateur’/informer the sole reason for your having taken a dislike to him?

A: Well who else sent him?

It has been suggested to me that the reason why, this time, Griffin took your ultimatum seriously was because in addition to your word about the meeting with Lecomber, you also had a tape of his incitements – otherwise Griffin could have dismissed your allegation as “one man’s word against
another’s”.

A: No i don’t have a tape.

Perhaps more significant than any of the above – more revealing about Griffin and the BNP’s leadership set-up – is the following statement which Owens issued on 6th April, and which I run out in full and unaltered:

Subject: Statement

I have attached the statement in it’s original form.

No,i’v had no response from Griffin or Lecomber.

When the police knocked at my home i told them i had nothing to say.

Setting the record straight.

Around two weeks before Christmas, I received a Christmas card from Tony Lecomber. I found this rather strange as I have never received one from him any time before, I thought nothing of it and put it down to simple courtesy and friendship. The message written on the card was a general season¹s greetings with a foot note that he would be visiting me sometime between Xmas and the New Year. I found this strange too, as I had not had any contact with Lecomber for at least 18 months. In reply to his card I e-mailed him my mobile number and land line phone number the following day.

Still confused as to why Lecomber would want to travel to Liverpool from London to see me over the festive period, I e-mailed him again and stated, ³if it was a fishing expedition on behalf of Griffin² he was not to bother.

He then replied, ³it was nothing to do with the BNP or Griffin but a personal matter regarding him².

I then received a phone call from Lecomber several days later saying, weather permitting, he would be down as he was also visiting someone in east Yorkshire.

It wasn¹t till after the New Year, when I received another e-mail from Lecomber saying he would be visiting me on the 9th or 12th of January 2006.

He finally showed up on the 12th January, we met around 12.00 noon at the Showcase cinema on the East Lancs. road, Liverpool. Nearby there is a Pizza Hut to which we went, a place I regularly frequent. The Pizza Hut was quiet and we sat down and I ordered drinks while we looked at the menu. We then ordered food and waited for it to arrive, I then asked Tony Lecomber what was the purpose of his visit.

He said to me, ³it was now too late to stop immigration² and quoted the recent statistics for London, saying ³42% of births were from recent immigrant women and this statistic did not include the births from the home grown ones².
My reply was ³tell me something I don¹t know².

To which he replied ³what we need is direct action². I then asked him what he meant by ³direct action², and he said ³targeting members of the establishment who are aiding and abetting the coloured invasion of this country².

I then replied ³what did targeting mean?²

He replied ³killing them². I then asked how that was going to stop immigration?

He replied ³it would deter other people filling their jobs².
I said this was rubbish as it never deterred establishment figures after murders committed by the IRA.

³Take Airey Neave for example². I then asked him which establishment figures he was referring to.

To which he replied ³the likes of Greg Dyke².

My alarm bells were now well and truly ringing as to what this man was up to. I then pressed him further on the issue on how these people were to be killed.

He said, ³a lot of intelligence would have to be gathered on those he planned to target and cars with false number plates would have to be acquired.

I told him I wanted no part in his mad scheme and whoever embarked upon such a scheme wouldn¹t last any longer than the Brazilian lad shot by the police on the tube in London.
We finished our food and left the restaurant.

On leaving I told him I wanted no part in his mad scheme. To which he replied,² if you change your mind give me a call².

After we parted company, I immediately rang Mark Collett and told him of the conversation I just had with Lecomber, he like I was deeply shocked. I also rang Stevie Cartwright from Glasgow and he said he would call Warren Bennett, head of BNP security and he would inform him about this serious breach of security.

Warren Bennett and maybe Scott McLean, then informed Nick Griffin of the situation. I then received a phone call from Nick Griffin and briefly outlined to Nick the conversation I had with Lecomber.

We decided to meet up on Saturday 14th January at the Chester services on the M56 motorway to discuss this serious turn of events.

I met Nick that day during the afternoon and told him word for word the conversation I had with Lecomber, to my amazement Nick informed me Lecomber was suffering from diabetes and that diabetics were prone to mood swings, this he said ³could explain Lecomber¹s apparent leave of his senses².

After I had stopped laughing, I said, ³well, it must have been a long mood swing as I got the xmas card two weeks before xmas and I had the conversation 12th January with Lecomber². To which Nick conceded I was right.

Nick and I spoke for some time and went over every possible scenario to explain his strange behaviour. We both then agreed the man was up to no good, in fact, Nick then said to me ³this now explains why Searchlight has always known our exact membership numbers².

Nick then said² Lecomber will be confronted at the forth coming court case demo in Leeds². Lecomber did infact turn up at the Leeds demo with his wife and children, something he had never done before, bring his wife and kids with him.
I believe,as some other astute observers told me, he brought his family with him as he anticipated being lamped had he been on his own.

I was also in regular contact with Stevie Cartwright and he informed me, as Nick Griffin did, that Lecomber either resign or to fall on his own sword. I have retained the original text message from Griffin which said ³ Tony told to resign or fall on own sword, now let me get on with my court case².
Before I go any further, Nick Griffin or anyone else in the BNP has not refuted one word I have said concerning this episode. All they have done is release a statement saying Lecomber had approached a non member and said words that could be ³misconstrued and bring the Party into disrepute².

How in the world I could misconstrue someone asking me to kill people is beyond me, I know exactly what Lecomber said and what he meant. As does he.

Several weeks had gone by and i was still led to believe that Lecomber was still working for the BNP. I e-mailed Griffin and asked him if this was the case? To which he replied, ³Tony was now passing his job over to another senior member which would take some time². He also said ³ losing Tony a good stratagist, electioneer, activist etc, was a great loss to the BNP and now leave the poor man alone².

³Leave the poor man alone²? The same poor man who tried to solicit me to murder people. I found this response from Griffin very strange indeed. Instead of using the full weight of a BNP tribunal to bring Lecomber to book and kicking him out of the party, Griffin was more concerned about Lecomber¹s feelings.

To this day Lecomber is actively working for the BNP and being paid a salary to do so.

Sadie Graham may have taken over Lecomber¹s old job but that is just window dressing by Griffin.

Why was it John Tyndall was expelled immediately from the BNP just for critising Griffin, yet Lecomber who advocated murder can nonchalantly carry on his duties in the BNP on the excuse he is clearing his desk and passing over his job, what a load of bull!!!

I now challenge Lecomber and Griffin to refute one word I have written here, in fact I even made the offer to Griffin to pay for Lecomber to undergo a polygraph test if what I was saying wasn¹t true. To date I have not been taken up on my offer.
I could go on and on but that would be pointless, however, ask yourself this question. Why has Lecomber been treated with kid gloves and the whole matter brushed under the carpet? Also on a final note, why has Lecomber not received a visit from the police as I am sure they will be aware of his conspiracy to solicit murder? Well, I’ll tell you who has received a visit from the police, ME! And I was not the one soliciting to commit murder. Very strange?

Whatever Lecomber¹s motives were, I don’t know, I am just giving you the facts as I know them.

Joe Owens.

CLOSING COMMENT:

While Owens is, for obvious reasons, “known to the Police” and likely to be somebody they call on for chats from time to time, it may be significant that the only person (so far) questioned by them about a case of “Solicitation to Murder” is Owens.

We have had no news of the Police interviewing Lecomber or Griffin. If anybody has any news of any such Police activity, I should be pleased to receive details.

I find this apparent Police inactivity very puzzling in view of the fact that Lecomber’s approach to Owens constitutes an incitement to terrorism – the kind of activity which has recently been the subject of stringent new laws following the “7/7” incidents.

But then there are a number of matters involving unlawful – if not criminal – activity involving Griffin which are known to the authorities, in respect of which no action has been taken.

Similarly, I know about matters – including one very serious matter which could produce fatalities – involving Griffin and his family, the details of which are known to numerous media entities, but which have been suppressed.

Among the media people involved in this suppression are among those I have mentioned in the first story in this issue who are currently engaged in the promotion of Griffin and the BNP.

Both of my stories in this issue, though on totally different topics, point to the same conclusion.

Martin Webster.
